CP AXTRA and Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation Sign MOU to Drive Business Collaboration and Product Innovation

Bangkok, July 9, 2025 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, an operator of Asia’s leading wholesaler and retailer “Makro” and “Lotus’s”, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) to deepen strategic cooperation in business development and food production innovation.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Tanit Chearavanont, Chief Executive Officer of Makro Thailand and Group Chief Commercial Officer of CP AXTRA (left), and Mr. Moon-pyo Hong, Chief Executive Officer of aT (right), marking a significant milestone in Thai-Korean trade relations.

Under the MOU, both parties will collaborate on food distribution, product development, exporter introductions, and facilitating buyer visits to Korea. They will also work together to identify and promote high-potential Korean food products for the Thai market, support marketing initiatives to expand product availability, establish a consultative body for information exchange, and jointly determine associated business and promotional costs.

This partnership reflects a shared vision to deliver high-quality, authentic Korean agricultural and food products to Thai consumers. By leveraging CP AXTRA’s nationwide distribution through Makro and Lotus’s, the collaboration will ensure greater accessibility to Korean products while enhancing consumer choice and enriching culinary experiences.

The agreement also opens the door to co-developing new product that fuse Korean ingredients with Thai tastes, preserving authenticity while meeting local preferences. It supports CP AXTRA’s broader strategy to strengthen its global sourcing capabilities - forging partnerships at the source to expand product variety, enhance quality, and deliver greater value to customers in Thailand.
