Bangkok, August 31, 2026 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, operator of Makro and Lotus’s under the Charoen Pokphand Group, continues to advance its “พลาสติกคืนค่า” (AXTRA Circular Impacts) model, focusing on fostering collective action in waste management and the circular economy. The initiative connects consumers, young people, schools, partners and the Makro–Lotus’s network to act and drive change in various ways from returning and sorting waste, to sharing knowledge and inspiring younger generations, as well as transforming used materials into new value.

The “AXTRA GREEN CHALLENGE: Waste Hunter” is one such initiative, inviting Bangkok residents to turn waste collection and sorting into an engaging team competition while creating a positive impact on public spaces.

The competition was held at Lan Tawan Yim in Lumpini Park, drawing enthusiastic participation from teams who collected and sorted waste within designated areas and time limits. Teams earned points based on the amount of waste collected, while team members also shared the atmosphere of the competition through Facebook Live to raise awareness and encourage wider public participation in proper waste management.

Throughout the competition, participants collectively collected and sorted 99.31 kilograms of plastic and recyclable waste from Lumpini Park, which was then directed into the appropriate waste management process. The activity demonstrated the power of collective action in caring for public spaces and the urban environment, while transforming waste collection into a tangible way to raise awareness and act toward a circular economy.

At the event, CP AXTRA Foundation and Buddharaksa Foundation under the Charoen Pokphand Group, represented by Ms. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Executive Officer of Sustainability and Corporate Communications, supported 15 plastic bottle collection racks at Lumpini Park, along with 100 reflective vests made from recycled plastic bottles for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) street cleaners. The equipment was presented to Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, to support waste segregation efforts and the work of cleaning staff across Bangkok.

CP AXTRA continues to advance the “พลาสติกคืนค่า” (AXTRA Circular Impacts) initiative, with a target to collect 10.5 million plastic bottles by 2026 through the participation of consumers, young people, schools, partners and the Makro–Lotus’s network nationwide. The initiative aims to return plastic bottles to the circular economy, create new value from used materials and make circularity a tangible part of everyday life.
