Makro Joins Forces with Public, Private and Local Sectors to Drive Post-Flood Community Recovery, Starting in Singburi Before Expanding to Other Provinces

16 October 2026 – Singburi: Makro, the leading wholesaler under CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, is stepping up collaboration with the public sector, the private sector and local agencies to help rehabilitate communities affected by the floods. Having provided initial relief through the delivery of relief bags, Makro is starting with a pilot in Singburi Province to jointly set out recovery plans and help communities and entrepreneurs return to normal life and livelihoods as quickly as possible. Makro also plans to extend this collaboration to other affected provinces.
Mr. Tanit Chearavanont, Group Chief Wholesale Business Officer of CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, together with Makro executives and team members, met with Mr. Waradisorn Onnuch, Governor of Singburi, and heads of relevant government agencies, including agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Provincial Commercial Office, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, the Provincial Industry Office and the Provincial Community Development Office. The meeting aimed to define post-flood community recovery approaches suited to the situation and needs of each area, covering environmental rehabilitation, access to essential goods at reasonable prices, and support for local entrepreneurs to resume business as soon as possible.
Mr. Tanit Chearavanont said: “After delivering relief bags to help those affected by the floods in the initial phase, what matters next is helping communities return to normal life and livelihoods as quickly as possible. That is why we are working with the private sector, the province and local agencies so that our support truly responds to community needs, both in rehabilitating areas and in helping communities access essential goods at reasonable prices. We believe sustainable recovery must begin with understanding the problems and needs of local people, and with taking action that helps communities and entrepreneurs stand strong again.”
In addition to coordinating on recovery plans, the Makro team joined a Big Cleaning Day in Chi Nam Rai Subdistrict, Singburi, to quickly clean public areas affected by the floods. The team also helped clean Wat Si Udom School, getting the premises clean and ready for students’ return before the new school term begins.
Makro is committed to standing by Thai communities at every stage, from initial relief right after the floods to post-flood recovery. By working with the public sector, the private sector and local agencies, Makro aims to ensure that assistance delivers tangible benefits, and to build on the recovery approach developed in Singburi for other affected areas, so that communities can restore their lives and livelihoods with long-term stability.
