CP AXTRA Wins Circular Tech & Sustainable Consumption Award at the 2nd BT Awards, Reinforcing Leadership in Sustainable Waste Management

16 March 2026

Bangkok: 16 March 2026 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited (CP AXTRA) has received the Circular Tech & Sustainable Consumption Award at the 2nd BT Awards: The Impact Makers. The award recognizes organizations that leverage technology and innovation to drive positive social and environmental impact in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). CP AXTRA received the award under SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Mrs. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Corporate Sustainability and Communication Officer of CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, accepted the award on behalf of the Company.

Receiving this recognition reaffirms CP Axtra’s leadership in sustainable waste management and highlights the success of its “From Waste to Wealth: Zero Waste, Countless Benefits” initiatives, which implement integrated waste management across the entire ecosystem—from upstream to downstream— driving a truly circular economy.

CP AXTRA implements comprehensive food waste management across the entire supply chain through three key approaches:

  • Upstream: Collaborating with producers and farmers to promote responsible farming practices, adopting packaging that helps extend product shelf life, and developing efficient transportation systems to minimize losses and reduce waste at the source.
  • Midstream: Managing in-store inventory to minimize waste through automated ordering systems supported by AI demand forecasting, along with proper storage under climate-controlled conditions.
  • Downstream: Maximizing the value of food waste through several initiatives, including:
    • Donating good-quality, non-expired surplus food to vulnerable groups, particularly low-income families, through the BKK FOOD BANK project, in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and SOS Thailand, to enhance food security while reducing food waste.
    • Donating surplus food to animals at wildlife breeding stations and wildlife rescue centers, transforming food waste into valuable resources while supporting wildlife care and conservation.
    • Applying green innovation to convert food waste into valuable resources by using it as feed for protein-rich black soldier fly (BSF) larvae. This helps reduce animal feed costs, while the larvae can be processed into high-quality animal feed products, creating new products and generating additional revenue. BSF by-products can also be used as organic fertilizer, helping promote a circular economy for farmers.
    • Converting waste into refuse-derived fuel (RDF) for use as an alternative fuel in cement plants and power generation facilities.

CP AXTRA remains committed to advancing sustainability initiatives. Through the “AXTRA Zero Waste: Less Waste, More Value” program, the Company aims to achieve “Zero Waste to Landfill by 2030,” while reducing environmental impact, generating social and economic value, and enhancing the quality of life for communities. Receiving the Circular Tech & Sustainable Consumption Award further reinforces the Company’s commitment to sustainable waste management.
