CP AXTRA reinforces Leadership in Sustainable Wholesale-Retail, Advancing SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production at GCNT Expo 2025

01 August 2025

Bangkok, 1 August 2025 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, the operator of the Makro and Lotus’s wholesale-retail businesses, reaffirmed its commitment to building a more sustainable world at the GCNT Expo 2025 – Forward SDGs Faster Together. The company showcased its mission to improve people’s quality of life through diverse products and services, while accelerating progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. CP AXTRA’s key strategies include:

  1. Empowering Farmers and SMEs Through the “Platform of Opportunity” This initiative connects farmers and SME entrepreneurs directly with the market, expanding income opportunities and access nationwide. It also includes training programs to promote sustainable production practices. To date, this initiative has generated over THB 28.7 billion in annual income for participating farmers and SMEs.
  2. Reducing Carbon Across the Supply Chain CP AXTRA collaborates with business partners to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build climate resilience across operations. The company also promotes environmentally friendly products that support a more sustainable way of living.
  3. Tackling Waste Across the Value Chain CP AXTRA is advancing circular waste management, particularly food waste, at both Makro and Lotus’s stores. Surplus food is transformed into animal feed or bio-fermented solutions (EM). The company also supports farmers in converting food waste into BSF (Black Soldier Fly) larvae, which are a sustainable protein-rich feed for chickens, helping to lower animal feed costs.

Additionally, the "AXTRA Green Together" project further encourages plastic waste reduction, with PET bottle drop-off points that upcycle plastic into sportswear—promoting responsible resource use and waste minimization.

At the GCNT Expo 2025 – Forward SDGs Faster Together, CP AXTRA executives shared the company's vision for driving sustainable development.

  • Mrs. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Corporate Sustainability and Communication Officer, spoke on “Tackling waste across the supply chain” —highlighting upstream support for farmers and SMEs through local sourcing, reducing a company’s carbon footprint from transportation, to product sustainability and end-of-life waste management.
  • Mr. Wasun Sinpitucksagull, Acting Group Chief People Officer, joined a panel discussion on topic “Transforming People Strategies in an Aging Society”.
  • Dr. Anan Watcharapongvinij, Senior Director - Construction & Design Planning, shared best practices in “The Reality of Sustainability,” emphasizing carbon reduction measures across the supply chain as part of the journey toward Net Zero.

CP AXTRA remains committed to business growth alongside social and environmental stewardship, striving to create sustainable shared value for all stakeholders.
