CP AXTRA Partners with Ministry of Commerce to Support Thai Farmers Launches Eastern Fruit Caravan, Delivering Fresh Produce to Consumers Nationwide via makro-Lotus’s

Chanthaburi, 27 April 2026 – Makro–Lotus’s, under CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting Thai farmers through a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, launching the Eastern Fruit Caravan initiative. The program sources fresh produce directly from key growing areas in Chanthaburi and nearby provinces, distributing it nationwide through makro-Lotus’s stores to expand market access, mitigate price volatility, and generate sustainable income for farmers.

The launch ceremony was presided over by Mrs. Suphajee Suthumpun Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce. alongside senior executives from both the public and private sectors. The caravan is set to distribute more than 100 tonnes of durian and other Thai fruits, supplying export markets, modern trade channels, and makro-Lotus’s stores across the country. This initiative helps absorb seasonal supply, prevent market oversaturation, and stabilize fruit prices.

The collaboration also enhances post-harvest management by implementing standardized logistics and handling processes from origin to destination, ensuring optimal freshness and minimizing losses. As a result, farmers benefit from more stable income streams, while consumers nationwide gain access to high-quality, fresh-from-orchard produce at competitive prices-strengthening the long-term resilience of Thailand’s agricultural sector.

In parallel, CP AXTRA is actively driving domestic fruit consumption through the “Thailand Fruit Fest: รวมรสผลไม้ไทย”, showcasing premium fruits from Thai farmers. A key highlight is the “Let’s Dorian บุฟเฟ่ต์ อร่อยฟิน ยิ้มยกก๊วน”, offering an all-you-can-eat durian experience featuring fresh Eastern-region produce. The official launch event was held at Lotus’s Bangna, presided over by Sub Lt. Chakra Yodmani, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Head of the Domestic Trade Mission. The durian buffet campaign is being rolled out nationwide across makro-Lotus’s stores at THB 599 per person, available from now until 17 May 2026.
