CP AXTRA Joins Forces with Department of Livestock Development to Enhance Meat Quality Standards, Expand Distribution Channels, and Elevate Traceability Systems

Bangkok, August 27, 2025 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, an operator of Asia's leading wholesaler and retailer "Makro" and "Lotus's", signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Livestock Development to support Thai farmers by expanding fair distribution channels and enhancing product quality. The partnership aims to strengthen a comprehensive traceability system across the supply chain and advance quality certification, fostering stability and sustainability in Thailand's livestock industry.
Dr. Somchuan Rattanamungklanon, Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, stated, "Given the decline in livestock prices, which has adversely affected farmers, we have partnered with CP AXTRA to expand beef distribution channels, enhance product quality and standards, and elevate traceability systems, with the aim of creating sustainable market opportunities for Thai farmers."
Mrs. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Corporate Sustainability and Communication Officer, CP Axtra Public Company Limited, added, "CP AXTRA prioritizes safe food production and supports Thai farmers through stable distribution channels, in line with our Platform of Opportunity approach. We enforce strict quality control from upstream to downstream through the i-Trace traceability system, which enhances efficiency and transparency by linking key data across the supply chain and tracking products from origin to consumer, ensuring the highest confidence in product quality and safety."
This MoU between the Department of Livestock Development and CP AXTRA aims to mitigate the impact of declining livestock prices and support farmers, particularly small-scale producers. The partnership focuses on expanding market channels, elevating traceability throughout the supply chain, and advancing product quality certification to build consumer trust and drive stable, sustainable growth in Thailand's livestock industry.
At the event, CP AXTRA also unveiled the "i-Trace" product traceability system, designed to enhance food safety standards and strengthen consumer confidence. By scanning a QR code, consumers can access essential information about a product's origin, processing, packaging, and nutrition. This marks an important step toward greater transparency in Thailand's food supply chain, giving consumers confidence in their choices while promoting sustainable, safe food production.
The partnership underscores CP AXTRA 's leadership in wholesale and retail, driven by responsibility to consumers, society, and the environment, by enhancing food quality standards, supporting Thai farmers, and implementing a traceability system to ensure transparency and sustainability in Thailand's food supply chain.
