Khon Kaen, November 2, 2026 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, the operator of Makro and Lotus’s, has unveiled a major transformation of “Lotus’s Khon Kaen”, introducing the distinctive “แคนซิ่ง” experience and elevating the shopping mall into a new lifestyle landmark and experience destination in Northeastern Thailand. Under the concept “Happy & Healthy Mall – A Community Space for Happiness and an Everyday Lifestyle Hub for All Generations in Khon Kaen and Neighboring Provinces,” the revamped mall brings together five leading global and national partners to deliver a new-generation retail experience that seamlessly integrates shopping, dining, entertainment, relaxation, and community activities. Designed to meet the evolving needs of modern consumers, Lotus’s Khon Kaen is now officially open, offering a comprehensive Lifestyle & Experience Destination for the region.
The official opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Yutthaporn Phirunsan, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province, and attended by Ms. Benchawan Ongsri, Chief Mall Officer of CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, Ms. Paphitchaya Suwandee, President of CP Future City Development Corporation, and Mr. Monchai Intarapornudom, Senior Director - Hypermarket Operations of CP AXTRA Public Company Limited. The newly transformed Lotus’s Khon Kaen has been designed under the concept “KAN KAEN KOON (แคน แก่น คูน),” drawing inspiration from the province’s distinctive “Khaen Kaen Koon” textile pattern, a symbol of local pride. The design reinterprets the traditional khaen, a Northeastern Thai musical instrument, and the golden shower flower (dok koon) featured in the pattern through contemporary architectural and interior elements that reflect the identity and lifestyle of Khon Kaen residents.
Spanning more than 28,000 square meters, the mall is strategically located on Mittraphap Road, a major transportation corridor connecting Central and Northeastern Thailand. Surrounded by key provincial landmarks, residential communities, hotels, and universities, the location offers strong potential in terms of economic activity, accessibility, and transportation connectivity. The mall provides more than 400 parking spaces and is accessible by public transportation, including Khon Kaen City Bus services and local songthaew routes operating along Mittraphap Road.
This major transformation marks another significant step in Lotus’s efforts to elevate the shopping experience and cater to diverse lifestyles, serving Khon Kaen residents, consumers from neighboring provinces, and both domestic and international visitors. The mall offers a comprehensive one-stop shopping experience, featuring a dedicated Fresh Food zone with a wide selection of vegetables, fruits, meat, and seafood, emphasizing freshness, quality, and value for both business operators and consumers. Complementing the fresh food offering is an extensive assortment of more than 41,000 products from leading Thai and international brands.
A key highlight of the transformation is the collaboration with five leading global and national partners, bringing together complementary retail concepts to establish Lotus’s Khon Kaen as a new lifestyle hub. These include True Branding Shop, an experience destination integrating technology, connectivity, services, and lifestyle to enhance customer engagement through sales, customer experience, and digital adoption; TrueCoffee, a contemporary meeting place offering premium-quality coffee; 7-Eleven, the trusted convenience store brand that serves customers’ everyday needs; IKEA, the Swedish home furnishing and décor retailer, together with IKEA Swedish Bite, marking its first presence in Northeastern Thailand; and Decathlon, offering a comprehensive range of sporting goods and equipment for active lifestyles.
In addition, Lotus’s Khon Kaen brings together popular dining and lifestyle brands, as well as hidden gems from both within and outside the province, including Lotus’s EATS, Jetts Fitness, Toh-Ah-Haan, Lom Kaow Cafe & Restaurant, Wish Dog, Because of Tea, and Time Square. The mall also welcomes brands making their debut in Khon Kaen, including One-to-Two, a café offering premium-quality coffee at accessible prices, and Domino’s Pizza, the internationally recognized American pizza chain. These additions provide consumers with greater variety while bringing fresh energy to Khon Kaen’s retail and dining landscape.
Under the “Happy & Healthy Mall – A Community Space for Happiness” concept, Lotus’s Khon Kaen aims to become “The Everyday Lifestyle Hub,” catering to the daily needs of consumers across all generations. The mall features a Kid Playground – Playland for children and families, fitness facilities and sporting goods for health-conscious visitors, cafés and restaurants for social gatherings, and IKEA offerings that inspire home and lifestyle experiences.
The mall also supports local economic development by providing community market spaces for small businesses, local merchants, and farmers to expand their sales channels and create income opportunities. In addition, complimentary aerobics activities encourage people of all ages to exercise together, reinforcing the mall’s role as an inclusive community gathering place.
On the environmental front, Lotus’s Khon Kaen has enhanced its operations under the Sustainability & Energy Saving concept through improvements to building systems and energy efficiency. These include upgrades to the cooling tower system, chiller system, air-handling fans, cooling water ozone treatment system, and automatic voltage control system. The enhancements are designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impacts while delivering an improved experience for mall visitors.
The transformation of Lotus’s Khon Kaen reflects Lotus’s evolving role beyond a conventional shopping mall into a new lifestyle and experience destination for Northeastern Thailand. Guided by the “Happy & Healthy Mall – A Community Space for Happiness” concept and four strategic pillars Food Destination, Lifestyle, Wellness, and Sustainability the mall brings together shopping, dining, health, leisure, and community engagement in one destination. It also creates opportunities for local entrepreneurs to grow alongside their communities, reinforcing Lotus’s commitment to delivering meaningful everyday experiences and contributing to sustainable local development.
