Bangkok, 23 June 2026 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, the operator of wholesale and retail businesses under the Makro-Lotus’s brands, continues its commitment to supporting Thai farmers through AXTRA AGRI-CONNEXT, a platform of opportunities designed to connect farmers and entrepreneurs, expand market access, and reduce intermediary steps. Most recently, the company purchased 100,000 kilograms of Trat Golden Rambutan, a signature fruit of Trat Province, directly from the Trat Agricultural Business Sector Promoting Cooperative Ltd. (Ban Ngo Trat) for distribution across 160 Makro–Lotus’s branches nationwide, helping create sustainable growth opportunities for Thai farmers.

Recently, Mr. Jirawut Suwannat, Deputy Director General of the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, and Mr. Viboon Supakrapongkul, Vice Chairman of The Thai Chamber of Commerce and Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Agriculture and Food Coordination and Public Relations Center (AFC), visited a special sales area featuring Trat Golden Rambutan and other produce from the cooperative, including Rong Rian Rambutan, durian, and mangosteen. They were welcomed by Mrs. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Corporate Sustainability and Communication Officer of CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, at Makro Nakhon In.

Mr. Jirawut Suwannat, Deputy Director General of the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, said, “I am pleased and proud to see Thai farmers, particularly those participating in AXTRA AGRI-CONNEXT, gaining access to modern trade channels such as Makro and Lotus’s. This collaboration helps broaden market opportunities for farmers while providing stable distribution channels, reducing risks related to product distribution and generating sustainable income. It serves as an excellent example of how public-private collaboration can improve the livelihoods of Thai farmers.”

Mr. Thanaphat jawinut, representative of Trat Golden Rambutan growers and The Manager of the Trat Agricultural Business Sector Promoting Cooperative Ltd. (Ban Ngo Trat), said, “As farmers, what we hope for most is to see the produce we have carefully cultivated recognised and reaching consumers nationwide. Participating in AXTRA AGRI-CONNEXT has enabled our products to access broader markets and secure more stable sales channels, reducing concerns about market access and providing greater income certainty. Most importantly, we take pride in knowing that fruit from our orchards is reaching consumers across the country.”

To further strengthen consumer confidence in product quality and safety, shoppers can access product information through the i-Trace (Traceability System), a comprehensive supply chain traceability platform that enhances food safety standards. By simply scanning the QR Code on the product, consumers can verify key information, including product origin, variety, production standards, cultivation location, and nutritional details.

Currently, AXTRA AGRI-CONNEXT has attracted more than 1,044 farmer and entrepreneur members. The company aims to develop the platform into Thailand’s largest network for farmers and SMEs while continuing to provide knowledge-sharing programmes and training opportunities to enhance production capabilities and business management skills. The platform also facilitates business matching opportunities between producers and buyers, creating additional market access and commercial opportunities.

In 2026, CP AXTRA aims to procure 30,000 tonnes of agricultural products, representing a total procurement value of THB 35 billion, reinforcing its commitment to creating tangible economic opportunities and driving sustainable growth across Thailand’s agricultural sector.
